Mathilde-Bord Laurans

Mathilde Bord-Laurans is the Deputy Executive Director of the FRLD. She has over 15 years' experience in development finance across energy, infrastructure and climate sectors. With deep expertise in financial management and climate change, particularly in addressing economic and non-economic loss and damage, extreme weather, and slow-onset events Mathilde brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Fund at a critical time to operationalize it.

Her career is distinguished by leadership in designing risk-mitigation frameworks and mobilizing capital for high-impact projects in vulnerable regions. Mathilde has spearheaded initiatives bridging public-private partnerships, advanced climate adaptation financing mechanisms, and shaped policy dialogues at multilateral institutions.

Mathilde brings a proven ability to transform vision into action, positioning the Fund as a catalyst for scalable, equitable climate solutions to address climate-induced loss and damage. As the Fund is operationalised, her expertise will be instrumental in aligning financial systems with urgent climate imperatives while fostering innovation in resource allocation and stakeholder collaboration.
