Jihyea Kim is the Program Manager of the Programming and Country Engagement team at the Fund for responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD). She leads the Fund's programming work, overseeing the development and operationalization of funding modalities and instruments, the management of the Fund's pipeline and portfolio, and the engagement with countries and entities to advance country-led and country-owned approaches for responding to climate-induced loss and damage. With over a decade of experience in international development, climate finance and multilateral climate fund programming, Jihyea is a seasoned professional with technical expertise in loss and damage, climate change adaptation and environmental management. Her career spans the United Nations system, multilateral climate funds and private sector - during which she played defining roles in shaping institutional policies and designing operational frameworks as well as supporting national governments and subnational entities in the development and implementation of climate change projects and programs to deliver meaningful results on the ground. Jihyea holds a M.Sc in Environmental Management with specialization in climate change adaptation and a B.A in International Relations and Political sciences from Seoul National University. |
